Abbeyfield
A 2nd to 4th-century Roman cremation cemetery. Excavated in 2000.

Abbotstone
A native farmstead which survived the Roman conquest.

Birch Quarry
A three thousand year old burial site in quarry.

Handford House
Excavations in the spring of 2003 during a development in Lexden produced outstanding results which are extending our knowledge of early Roman burial practices.

Head Street
The former Post Office site in Colchester. A Roman and later site in Colchester town centre centre.

High Street/Menzies
An interesting site on Colchester High Street where large medieval coin hoards have been found in the past. Excavated in 2000.

Garrison
The rebuilding of Colchester Garrison is providing an extraordinary opportunity to explore Iron Age and Roman Colchester in a way that has not been possible before.

Former St Mary's Hospital
A large extra-mural site with the remains of Roman buildings and Roman burials. Possibly Anglo-Saxon burials too. Just west of the Balkerne Gate.

Stanway
A high status late Iron Age/early Roman burial site excavated 1991-97
