Gaming board and counters

The Warrior grave contained the remains of a wooden gaming board and a set of black and white glass gaming counters, Unlike the counters in the Doctor's grave, they were not laid out on the board but were in a pile or a bag to one side. It is likely there were more counters than found, and that there were the same number of each colour.

The board was wooden and in two halves which were linked together by two hinge-like copper-alloy fittings at either side. The four corners of the wooden board were strengthened with L-shaped copper-alloy strips. Hardly any of the wood survived, except for parts in close proximity to the metal fittings.
